American University of Health Sciences (AUHS) held its monthly College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) testing in the university library on Friday, April 21, 2017. The CLEP exam is issued by College Board and is the “most widely trusted credit-by-examination program for over 40 years, accepted by 2,900 colleges and universities and administered in more than 1,800 test centers,” according to collegeboard.org. The CLEP is a 90-minute exam that students can take for college credit on a wide variety of subjects such as introductory psychology, calculus, biology, English literature, humanities, and much more.

“AUHS is one of College Board’s test center so our university is listed on College Board’s website and anyone outside the school can choose to take the exam here,” said Stephanie Lien, AUHS Librarian and certified Primary Test Administrator for CLEP.

Test takers must pay College Board $80 for the exam and a $20 sitting fee to AUHS. AUHS had been a College Board test center for about three years, according to Lien. The CLEP exam is also available to AUHS students who must first speak to the Admissions department before scheduling an appointment with Lien.

AUHS offers the CLEP exam once or twice a month and is scheduled on a “need basis.” The next CLEP testing is scheduled for Wednesday, May 26, 2017.
