Bio

Dr. Andrew J. Patalano is a chemist and educator with a Ph.D. from the University of California, Riverside and extensive experience teaching general, organic, inorganic, and biochemistry across multiple colleges and universities in Southern California. His research spans advanced materials chemistry, including nanoparticle-infused carbohydrate sponges for environmental remediation and catalysis, with several peer-reviewed publications and a pending patent. In addition to his academic work, he has produced over 20 educational lab videos and is experienced in remote and hybrid instruction across diverse online platforms. Outside the lab, he brings creative flair to scientific communication through science-inspired digital art, video production and creative lesson design to emphasize chemistry in our daily lives.
