Bio
Dr. Modina is the Executive Dean, Professor, and Assistant Chief Nurse Administrator at the School of Nursing. She is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner and a highly regarded nurse executive with over 30 years of experience in clinical practice, academia, and leadership. Dr. Modina holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from UMass Global (formerly known as Brandman University) and advanced nursing degrees from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) and California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA).
Her diverse nursing background includes ICU, ER, telemetry, primary care, women’s health, oncology, hospice, and palliative care. She is highly skilled in curriculum design, program assessment and development, accreditation, operations management, advising, and faculty development.
She is currently serving as a CCNE Evaluator for AACN and as an advisor and past president of the Philippine Nurses Association, Orange County chapter. A passionate advocate for student success, professional advancement, and team building, she is dedicated to creating inclusive, high-impact learning environments that empower individuals and transform the landscape of healthcare education.
