Ari & Lieu Suss
Excellence in Allied Health Scholarships

Mr. & Mrs. Suss are strong supporters of science education and the enrichment of youth through education.  They support many charities that enhance the well-being of society through research, social studies, and science education.  Mr. Ari Suss is a life-long entrepreneur who started his first successful business at the ripe old age of 16.  He currently runs a successful e-commerce business.  Mrs. Suss has a passion for research and is a health policy advocate.  She has worked in the field of clinical research for over 4 years and has started her own clinical research management company advocating for minority inclusion in clinical trials.

Ari & Lieu Suss Excellence in Allied Health Scholarships are awarded based upon financial need and merit. Grants are awarded once a year and sent to the school for distribution. The funds must be used to pay for tuition, books and other academic-related expenses. Students are chosen based upon their application, biographical essay including career goals and interests, most recent official transcript and two letters of recommendation.

Three scholarships will be awarded to candidates enrolled in the American University of Health Sciences (AUHS) BSN program.  One scholarship each will be awarded to a candidate in the AUHS MSCR program, Research Medical Assistant Program and Pharmacy Technician program.

Scholarships in the amount of $300 – 1,500 are based primarily on financial need, and are available to students at AUHS in the following categories:

  • Academic Excellence
  • Underrepresented Groups (minority and male students)
  • Community leaders

Completed applications will be due on March 29 with funds available July 1st.   All applications need to be submitted to the AUHS Financial Aid Office for EFC verification by 7PM (PST) on March 29, 2007.  No exceptions.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing:
Two need-based scholarships in the amount of $1,500 will be awarded to two new students in the BSN program at AUHS.  The candidate must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 for AUHS courses completed.  Awards will also be based on expected family contribution (EFC).

A merit-based scholarship in the amount of $1,500 will be awarded to a new student in the BSN program.  The candidate must have completed at least one academic quarter at AUHS with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5.

Master of Science in Clinical Research:
A merit-based scholarship in the amount of $400 will be awarded to a student enrolled in the MSCR program at AUHS.  Students must have completed one quarter of courses and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5.

Research Medical Assistant
A need-based scholarship in the amount of $300 will be awarded to a student enrolled in the RMA program at AUHS.  Awards will be based on expected family contribution (EFC).

Pharmaceutical Technician
A need-based scholarship in the amount of $300 will be awarded to a student enrolled in the Pharmacy Technician program at AUHS.  Awards will be based on expected family contribution (EFC).
